Facts and Opinions

I walked in this morning to a box full of chickens who were out of food and water! I can't believe they finished everything we left for them at the end of the day!

We started our day with a little chick time because, if we don't, I've quickly realized that we have a hard time working because we're always wondering when it's GOING to be chick time!  Our chicks are very cute and we love having them in our room.  We were surprised at how quickly they are growing. We can see changes in them already.

In math we reviewed greater than and less than and counted up and back by 10's and 100's.  It's getting more challenging because we're using numbers in the 100's and 200's!

During reading we worked more with the differences between facts and opinions.  We are excellent at finding them and giving examples of them.  We created posters with facts and opinions about chicks.  They are very cute and we worked hard.

We spent the afternoon preparing for our assembly about Memorial Day on Friday.  We are performing a song with the entire first grade.  We also made a flag to hold while we sing.

We were all SUPER STUDENTS today.  The first graders are such responsible pet owners and have been very focused.  They are rock stars!
