Entertaining

We are learning about the letters that need to be doubled at the end of words- these letters are f, l, s and z.  We say, "Sam Likes Fried Zuchinni" to help us remember which letters need doubling!  We generated a HUGE list of words with those letters at the end like, fall, wall, ball, pill, hill, pizza, fuzz, fuss, pass, miss, stress, gross and grill.  The red word this week is many.  Our WOW word is entertain-to have fun doing something.  We are EXPERTS at using this word in sentences!  Our favorite sentence so far has been, "I always need something to entertain me during long car rides." 

This week in math we are reviewing using coins to pay for items.  We played a fun game today where we asked our friends to buy us something from the vending machine.  Our friend had to draw the coins it would take to pay for the item(s).  We thought it was very silly to ask for THREE items from the vending machine! 

We have started a new book called, The Finn Family Moomintroll.  We are really enjoying this story so far and especially like that we have a Character Glossary to keep track of the characters because they have confusing names like Snuffkin, Sniff and Momminmamma.  We are also learning many new, fancy words like elegant, mused, and ponder. 

Our chicks are on Day 8!  They now have heartbeats, eyes, a brain, blood vessels and feather tracts!  We can't believe how much they're growing when we can't even see it!
