Busy, Busy

It was very busy for a Tuesday, today in Room 3.  The students worked to count tally marks and make their own during math.  We found out that the favorite season in Room 3 is (much to my dismay...) Winter!  Fall was next with four of us choosing that  (we all had birthdays in October and November... I wonder why Fall is our favorite?!?!?) and Spring and Summer were tied for last with 3 votes each.

During reading, first graders worked hard to finish all the work they have been working on.  Some of us were even able to alphabetize our "___at" family words.  We are having trouble coming up with more words for our "___ab" family.  Would you help your child brainstorm some today?  We continued to write excellent, first-grade sentences today.

In writing we established what our hopes and dreams would be for this year.  I know your child will be excited to share them with you.  They were all very thought-out and specific.

At the end of the day every single person in the room was at "Ready to Learn" or higher so we celebrated with a dance party!  The dance moves were amazing. :)

We also had one student earn a browse through the Awesome Behavior Catalog and Joud chose to teach a subject tomorrow- I can't wait to hear what she'd like to teach!

Hailey updated our Writing Center date during indoor recess
 Connor built an airplane
Avery built a ferris wheel, which turned into a steering wheel
While other first graders built a block-ramp
Summer and Matthew showed off their "fluffy friends"
And the best part of the whole day... Ryan F. showed us his dance moves!
 Then everyone else joined in!
(Look closely and you'll see Trace's best moves in the background!)

They had to "Freeze" here... how could you tell?!?
