Awesome Behavior Strikes Again!

NOTICE: TOMORROW IS PICTURE DAY!  PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND IN PHOTO ORDERS IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!  (Our photo time is after lunch... I'll do my best to make sure we have sweat-free first graders for their photo ops!)

Today was another celebratory day with THREE of our first graders filling their punch cards and earning the privilege of browsing through our Awesome Behavior Catalog. 

Ryan P. and Mark both chose to bring a fluffy friend with them tomorrow and Colin chose a play dough break in the morning.  We are so proud of all of our awesome first graders!

Talk about a proud group of boys!

We started our Social Studies unit today- Community Helpers!  We are all part of our community, so we started by talking about ourselves and creating an "All About Me" book.

In math we continued to practice tally marks and had so much fun playing "Tally-Dice".  Can you believe that out of 20 rolls we did not roll a 1, ONCE but rolled a 4, EIGHT times?!?  The first graders had brilliant observations about the data we collected and were thrilled that we rolled a 2, twice; and a 3, three times.  

Math Note: Whenever you have time with your first grader, please practice counting by 2's to  20 and by 5's to 40!
