Election Results

We tallied the results from our PPS election and have declared a  PPS Presidential winner!  The winner won't be revealed until our assembly Friday morning, so... you'll have to wait until then to find out!  Our class will be hosting Morning Meeting and sharing what we've learned about voting and elections then.  Your first grader has a highlighted sentence (or two) in their folder that they need to practice tonight and tomorrow night for our assembly on Friday.  They should practice speaking loudly and clearly.

Look at the finished results of our art project yesterday:

In math today we worked to add different amounts of coins and rolled 3 dice at a time to practice adding THREE numbers together!  That is really hard work!

Colin and Ryan B. roll & add

During reading we have been working on short "i" words, magic/bossy "e", and onomatopoeia.  Onomatopoeia is a word that imitates a sound like,: whoosh, crunch, woof, quack or meow.  We have been listening and looking for onomatopoeia in stories that we read.

We celebrated Trace's birthday today and his mom delivered delicious "Pup Cakes" for everyone!  Check these out:

During writing we spent our time writing our lines for our assembly.  The first graders did a wonderful job coming up with important facts that they've learned.  They also chose words that are a difficult to remember and pronounce, so practice, practice, practice!

We are really excited for our assembly!
